Madrid's chic little Hiding Place
El Escondite is a restaurant, cafe, lounge, place to meet friends for a cocktail...a hiding place?
El Escondite in English means "the hiding place." Do you feel like tapas, a gourmet dinner, lunch, or an exotic cocktail? This fabulous place has everything from mojitos to skewers of chicken with mango chutney, red curry, and honey-soy sauce. Traditional tapas from croquetas de jamón to solomillo with brie can also be enjoyed here.
The local is split into the two parts: a zone for those who just want to picar (nibble and pick at tapas) set with high tables and the bar and the zone for those who want to stay for a while and enjoy the artistic gastronomy of El Escondite. You can always stay for both: an aperitif followed by a delicious meal. The decor is modern, but with a warm touch. El Escondite can be found in two of Madrid's most beautiful neighborhoods: Barrio Salamanca and Chamberi.
Come find this hiding place on Alberto Acocer 27 or Villanueva 26!
